2003 to 2013 "Keeping our hand to the plow". Many stories yet to be told.
2013
After going to a pastors and leadership meeting around April 2003, pastor Dave White felt we should step up our prayer time for New Life Friends Church. Before service pastor Dave and I planned to meet to pray over our facility and grounds. David took the inside and I took the outside to walk the perimeter of the property. The very first day we did this as I was walking around the building, coming to the front doors was taped "9 Satanic Statements".
Pastor Dave White stepped down as pastor after more than 12 years at New Life Friends Church in the summer of 2013. He appointed Jamie Kingsbury as pastor, who currently serves in that capacity.
Also in 2013 New Life Friends Church shut down the ministries of the Lords gym, food ministry and the clothing closet October 2013 in order to rebuild and restore the physical building as the ministries had taken its toll on the building.
2014
Early Childhood Development (one year). Fire of God Hispanic church stay for about one year.
2015
New Sunday School program began for ages 3 years old to 5th grade, with Dorothy Spooner as Sunday School Director.
2016
Former pastor Dave White started the "Book and Ball" Basketball night on
Tuesdays for the youth of the Rosemere area. Currently there are about 20 - 30 youths that come Tuesday night. They also receive a meal and a message at the end of the evening with prayer requests also taken. Also, Matt Young, founder of Vancouver Elite began a Saturday morning time of Basketball for the youth of the area as well. Currently there are about 10 - 15 youth that come on Saturday morning. They begin with prayer and for any needs that are made known.
2017
The journey continues. New Life Friends Church is moving forward in reaching out to the youth of Rosemere through sport activities.
New life friends church aka the Lord's Gym
At the beginning of March 2021, New Life Friends called Shawn Leonard as Associate Pastor. Shawn had been pastoring at Crossroads Community Church (a NWYM church) for the past 6 years. After 4 months, Shawn became Co-Pastor, along with Dave White, with Dave being the Senior pastor. Shawn also does morning devotions with the men at The Rock, a men's recovery house. Shawn is married to Christina and has a daughter named Hope. At the time of this writing (8/23/2021), Hope will be 4 yrs old on 8/29/2021.
